Almond Oil

Almond oil is rich in vitamins A,B and E, and essential minerals magnesium and calcium. It is a perfect base for massage as it is a gentle oil which relieves skin inflammation and irritation. It is light yet nourishing, restoring suppleness and smoothness to rough, dry skin.

Bees produce wax from honey to build the hexagonal honeycomb in which to store their honey, giving the wax remarkable therapeutic properties. It is extremely moisturising, softening the skin and providing a protective waterproof barrier.  Beeswax is anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and has germicidal anti-oxidant properties which make it ideal for skincare.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E helps to protect the structure of cell membranes and is a potent anti-oxidant. Because it is fat soluble, it is readily absorbed and provides protection and support to the cell structure.  It's moisturising and anti-inflammatory properties also make it highly effective in wound and scar healing.

Arnica Extract

Arnica has anti-inflammatory and pain relieving properties which make it an ideal application for bruises and sprains on unbroken skin. It helps to accelerate the healing process by stimulating the formation of granular tissue. In studies Arnica has proven to be as effective as ibuprofen in lessening pain, providing a natural alternative which is beneficial for arthritic conditions, sports injuries and everyday aches and pains.

Olive Oil

Olive Oil has been used in body care since ancient times, as a cleanser, moisturiser and skin protector. It is rich in Vitamins A and E, giving it anti-oxidant properties and the ability to restore skin's elasticity. It's rich formula penetrates deeply without clogging the skin, making it an effective treatment for dry and damaged skin.

Essential Oils

Distilled from the bark, leaves and flowers of plants, essential oils provide potent natural antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties which are present within the plants they are extracted from.

Songbird's Lavender oil comes from the Drome, Vanclause and Haut 'd Alps region in France, where they buy directly from the farm and monitor the quality ourselves. They use an AOP version of the oil, which means that it is controlled for quality by a board, where it is blind tested and it has to be harvested by traditional means and has to come from that particular area of Provence. It is controlled in the same way that Champagne or Roquefort cheese is controlled, and it is quality is assured.
